Are you Crazy like me?

I like to plan. OK, let me clarify, I LOVE to plan.
I love to do the research, pick things out, organize, and then see it all come to fruition.
This goes for trips, parties, dinners, meetings, you name it.
I really, really love to put it all in an itinerary in Excel so I can move things around as needed.

I kid you not.
My friend Miranda & I went to Vegas....spreadsheet! I even plotted our daily nap and time for beautification before we went out for the evening. Miranda and I went to NYC with Valerie and Ashley, spreadsheet! (and Val LOVED it, she IS crazy like me)

So when I ask my husband what we are thinking of doing for our son's birthday party in April, he just looks at me and says, "Do you realize that its January?"
Of course I do.
Does he realize that I am pregnant and I want to get as much of this done before I am too uncomfortable to think? Does he know that there are multiple baby showers that I will have to attend (YAY!) and Spring Break to plan, and more birthday parties, and my sister is having a baby, and yep, I AM HAVING A BABY, and consignment sales that will all need attention in the upcoming months?
He thinks I am crazy. I think I am just trying to organize the upcoming chaos.

So, for a 3 yr old boy's party, do we do the Zoo again? We love the zoo. Its got things for adults and kids of all ages, but we have done the Zoo for the last two years. I thought about the park, but I hate to have to interact with other children who may not be well supervised, or as kind to my child as I would like. Randy suggested one of those bounce house thingies. But we do not have room in our yard for one, and the parks that allow them are not in the most desirable of locations.

The next question is theme...

Right now B is all about some Lightning McQueen, Sponge bob, and anything Dinosaur. But how do you pick? Decorations are pretty easy for all of them. We buy some licensed stuff and supplement with sold colors to round everything out without breaking the bank. And we will prob use cupcakes again this year, just because they were so much easier than cake!

My goal is to have all this decided and ordered and planned within the next month.

I'll keep you updated.

If it doesn't belong to you, leave it alone

Didn't your momma teach you when you were growing up that if something wasn't yours, you shouldn’t touch it? My momma did. If we were in a store, there was a "hands off" policy. If we were visiting out of town family, we waited to be asked before diving into someone else's toy box. It was the rule.

Well, Wednesday evening, my sister called to tell me that someone had broken into their house while they were at work. Ouch! I hate that for them. My sister and BIL have worked HARD for what they have. They just bought that house last spring, they are expecting my perfect niece this April, and everything is going well for them. It’s not fair that some lowlife tried to diminish the value of what they have. I am thankful that there was minimal damage to their home, and that not a lot was stolen. What was taken was mostly electronic and can easily be replaced. I just hate that someone violated their space.

Several years ago, someone broke into my car. It was parked in my driveway at the time and I had left my purse in the front floorboard. (I know...NOT SMART) I left the house to head to church & I turned around and went inside and called the police instead. I was more ticked that the thief had taken my FAVORITE Kenneth Cole wallet, and broken my window than anything else. They left my jacket, my cd's, you could almost feel bad for them because I carry no cash (never have, I lose it), and there was nothing of value to anyone other than me in my purse. I was one of those anal people who keep a list of credit cards and phone numbers in my bill box, and I had called them all and cancelled them all by the time the police arrived 20m later. So it was more annoying for me, than anything else, an inconvenience.

So…the moral of the story, if it’s not yours, let it be. I wish that the creep(s) who broke into their home (and my car!) had been paying attention when their momma was teaching them that lesson!

18 Weeks!

Your Baby's Development This Week

• This week, your baby is about 5-1/2 inches long, or about the length of a large tomato.
• Your baby's skeleton continues to harden. His leg bones and inner ear bones are the first to ossify (harden).

How Far Along: 18 wks
Total Weight Gain: still down 15 for the entire pregnangcy, I gained 3 back this month
Sleep: Still pretty OK, I have a little insomnia here and there, but I am left side sleeping and only gettig up to pee a few times if at all.
Best Moment this week: My 29+1 Bday Monday & tonight Dinner with the girls!
Movement: Lots, especially when there is loud noise (hello movie theater) and I am still, noone else can feel the boy yet.
Belly Button: IN! Hopefully it will stay in like it did the first go round.
What I miss: Girls night...when we could stay up past 9pm :)
What I am looking forward to: Getting the crib out of B's room and downstairs for munchkin #2
Weekly Wisdom: Take the trash out before you leave the house for date night...its ugly to come home and have it strewn all over the floor because of your bad dog.

29...Again

So today is my birthday.
Do you remember when you were a kid and you thought 30 was OLD???
So maybe its not that old, but I am not quite ready to claim it yet.
So I can just be 29 again this year.
I have accomplished alot in 29+1 years.
I have made some amazing friends. 3 of whom I went to highschool with and
I have graduated both high school and college, with plans to go back for my master's this year.
I have picked the most wonderful man in the world to marry. He is my best friend and he completes me in every way that matters. He is strong where I am weak, he is silent when I am running off at the mouth, he is patient where I am impulsive.
I have a beautiful son, who turns 3 in April and he constantly amazes and amuses me.
I have another son on the way, and I know he will bring even more joy to our lives.
I have an incredible family. We may be small in number, but we are constant. I have received unending support from my parents, my sister and my brother. They are fantastic and I am so blessed to have them.
So I am going to enjoy today and see it for the positive aspects.
